MAJOR HURRICANE MIGHT BE A NEW EXPERIENCE. ABSOLUTELY. ANTOINETTE NOW, MANY NATIVE NEW ENGLANDERS ARE NOW LIVING IN FLORIDA. MILTON MIGHT BE THE FIRST HURRICANE THEY EVER SEE. OTHERS HAD TO DEAL WITH HURRICANE ARLENE JUST A FEW WEEKS AGO. TAKE A LOOK AT THIS VIDEO THAT A VIEWER SENT US IN. WILL HULL SENT THIS VIDEO IN ON THE EYE OF THE STORM JUST AFTER 9:00 LAST NIGHT. HE SAYS IT STOPPED RAINING AT THIS MOMENT, BUT IT WAS STILL WINDY. HULL IS RIDING OUT MILTON IN SARASOTA AFTER HURRICANE HELENE. STORM SURGE DEVASTATED HIS TAMPA HOME TWO WEEKS AGO. MICHAEL CODY AND HIS PARTNER MOVED TO SAINT PETE FROM EVERETT AND BOUGHT THEIR HOME WITH HURRICANES IN MIND. WE’RE 43FT ABOVE SEA LEVEL. WE HAVE A CINDER BLOCK HOUSE. WE HAVE HURRICANE WINDOWS LIKE WE SPECIFICALLY BOUGHT THIS HOUSE FOR THIS EXACT REASON. I’VE BEEN HERE IN FLORIDA FOR 16 YEARS AND THIS IS THE BIGGEST ONE THAT WE’VE EVER HAD COMING IN, HITTING US HERE ON THE WEST COAST. NOW. HURRICANE DEBBY NEARLY FLOODED STEVE GROVE’S CLEARWATER HOME BACK IN AUGUST. YOU CAN SEE TIME LAPSE VIDEO FROM HIS HOME LAST NIGHT SHOWS MILTON’S PUNCH. HE AND HIS FAMILY EVACUATED TO ORLANDO, BUT A LOT OF THE NEW ENGLANDERS WE SPOKE WITH SAY STORM SURGE IS THEIR BIGGEST CONCERN THIS MORNING. WE’RE LIVE IN CAMBRIDGE. I’M TED WAYMAN WCVB NEWSCENTER FIVE. OKAY, TED. THANK YOU. IF YOU WANT TO HELP THOSE IMPACTED BY MILTON AND HELENE WCVB HAS ACTIVATED RELIEF FUND FIVE. IT’S A SAFE WAY TO DONATE TO THE AMERICAN RED CROSS. GO T
