A man plummeted to his death from a luxury skyscraper in New York City in an apparent suicide on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred at 19 Dutch Street at Fulton Street in Manhattan’s Financial District, a luxury building where rents can reach as much as $10,000 a month.

The death is likely to be a suicide, sources suggested to DailyMail.com on Sunday night.

Images from the scene showed a large police presence, and the deceased covered with a white sheet.

It comes after a string of jumping suicides in affluent neighborhoods around New York City in recent months.

A 56-year-old jumped to his death from the fourth floor of a swanky Upper East Side townhouse in Manhattan in December.

The unnamed man was found in front of 18 East 67th Street, close to Madison avenue, just before 7:30am on December 21.

The pre-war building rents units out for up to $9000 a month.

First responders rushed the man to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The man had left a note, the New York Post reported.

Earlier that month a 35-year-old woman died after jumping from a high-rise known as The Brittany, close to Mayor Eric Adams’ residence in Gracie Mansion.

In October, a 47-year-old man jumped to his death from the Gotham Hotel in Midtown. While in the summer, three men died within the space of two days after taking their own lives.

One of those men died from jumping from a luxury high-rise.
