José Luis Martínez-Almeida answers one of the big questions about his marriage with Teresa Urquijo: “We’ve already started…”

After more than ten days touring exotic destinations such as the Maldives and Bhutan, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, mayor of Madrid, and Teresa Urquijo, his wife, have returned to the capital of Spain. The couple, who celebrated their wedding just fifteen days ago in the San Francisco de Borja Parish, have arrived from their honeymoon and have been received by a large group of media at the Barajas airport.

During his meeting with the press, Martínez-Almeida shared that both he and Teresa are “very happy” and “with their batteries recharged” after their vacation on the other side of the world. The return not only means the end of your luxury getaway, but also the reunion with your daily obligations in Madrid.

Beyond his return to work, Almeida promised that one of his married tasks would be to have children. Asked about the possibility of becoming parents, the mayor responded with humor. “We already started with that,” referring to his wedding speech in which he expressed his desire to start a family with Teresa.

With this response it does not seem that Almeida and Urquijo are going to get to work immediately, but the door remains open. In fact, his words were clear: he wants to “return the blessing of having found Teresa in the form of sons or daughters.”

They do not talk about the Urdangarín – Urquijo relationship

The marriage also seemed very elusive with one of the news of the year: Irene Urdangarín, granddaughter of King Emeritus Juan Carlos I, is dating Juan Urquijo, Teresa’s brother. According to the popular mayor, they have been very relaxed during their honeymoon and have not “learned anything.”

Therefore, having spent a few days “isolated, disconnected and, therefore, happy”, they understand that “it is best not to give an opinion” before taking a wrong step.
