Delhi News Live Updates: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Tuesday stated that the Tihar administration has given insulin to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who had been demanding it for his “increasing sugar levels.” On Monday, Kejriwal had dismissed statements by the Tihar Superintendent as false, after the jail officials said that the issue of insulin was neither raised by the CM nor was it suggested by the doctors who were part of the doctor’s consultation. Special Judge Kaveri Baweja directed the jail authorities to constitute a medical board composed of doctors from AIIMS which will decide whether the CM needs insulin or not, while rejecting his plea seeking daily consultations with his doctor through video conferencing.

Kejriwal, who is suffering from diabetes, has been in Tihar jail since April 1 after being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with money laundering in the now-scrapped Delhi liquor policy.

In other news, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) Monday officially introduced its three Lok Sabha candidates from the Capital — Jai Prakash Agarwal from Chandni Chowk, Kanhaiya Kumar from Northeast Delhi, and Udit Raj from Northwest Delhi — amid protests by a section of workers Challenging Raj’s candidature. Gathering outside the Delhi Congress office, the workers raised slogans of “Bahari umeedwar nahi chalega (an outsider candidate will not be allowed),” criticizing Raj for his past affiliation with the BJP until 2019.
