Blanca Arce Barboza, an official of the current government, resigned yesterday because the Prosecutor’s Office pointed her out as an alleged operator of Patricia Benavides.

Criminal organization

The people arrested are subject to preliminary detention and among the alleged crimes charged to them are those of criminal organizationaggravated collusion and influence peddling.

In addition to Miguel Girao and Abel Hurtado, the lawyer José Luis Castillo Alva and his wife Mirtha González Yep were arrested; as well as Giancarlo Valer Enciso, Jorge Luis Palomino Quesada and the former Diviac agent Jorge Jonathan Rodríguez Menacho, accused as a “mole” of Patricia Benavides.

With the participation of 23 prosecutors and more than a hundred police officers, documentation related to the case was collected.

Raids

The raids were carried out at 3:40 in the morning in 21 homes located in the districts of El Agustino, Jesús María, San Isidro, Magdalena de Mar, Ate, Lince and Barranco. Two properties owned by lawyer Óscar Nieves, who was legal advisor to President Dina Boluartewere raided.

According to the fiscal thesis, Nieves offered money to file an investigation by the Money Laundering Prosecutor’s Office.

Exit impediment

The Supreme Prosecutor’s Office Specialized in Crimes Committed by Public Officials requested the Supreme Preparatory Investigation Court to issue an impediment to leaving the country for the former fiscal of the Nation Patricia Benavideswho said that Operation Valkyrie II was a “psychosocial” to remove her.
