Hermosillo firefighters went almost at noon this Wednesday to attend to the case of an alleged explosion and smell of gunpowder reported by staff at the El Edn home for the elderly, located on Serdn Street, corner with Horacio Flix Larrea, in the neighborhood. Center.

Ixcoatl Villa Gastelum, acting chief of the Fire Department, said that the facilities were checked and no signs were found that an explosion had occurred in the area’s surroundings.

“No artifact has been located, nor any indication that makes us think of an explosion, nor have we detected the aroma of gunpowder that they mentioned,” he reported.

Villa commented that it was not necessary to evacuate the 20 older adults who reside in the home, since they verified that there was no risk to their safety.

“The staff here called 9-1-1 and we immediately went to the scene to respond to the report,” he mentioned.

The acting chief of the Hermosillo Fire Department added that State Civil Protection personnel also collaborated in verifying the property.
