Lampese residents in the Akoko-Edo Local Government Area of ​​Edo State have expressed shock over the rainstorm disaster that affected some houses in the locality.

An eyewitness who does not want his name in print said the unfortunate incident occurred on Friday, April 26, 2024, as a result of heavy downpour which he noted, also affected a transformer.

The residents also called on the state and local government and all concerned authorities to come to their rescue with a view to proffering urgent solutions and resettling displaced residents.

Reacting to the ugly situation, the local government council chairman, Hon Tajudeen Alade who was far away in Enugu on official engagement, said he mobilized the local council officials to the scene for an on-the-spot assessment immediately after he got the news, promising to visit victims as soon as he returns.

While indicating that he was in touch with the deputy governor, Engineer Omobayo Godwins and the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) who moved to fast-track the process of resettling affected persons.
