Yeferson Cossiowith 11 million followers on Instagram, has been involved for several months and facing complaints on social networks for misleading advertisingsince it made people sign up for their accounts and thereby guarantee an effective way to earn money networking. Complaints flooded the internet to the point that other content creators like Nicolás Arrieta echoed the voices of those affected.
Given the complaints, The Superintendency of Industry and Commerce, SIC, ruled and decided to sanction the Grupo Cossio SAS for misleading advertising for a value of 813,002,240 pesos. “The decision was adopted after this Super Intendency carried out the corresponding administrative sanctioning investigation, in which it concluded that the investigation resulted in the investigated incurred misleading advertising about its product called ‘Cossio Method’ (…) after analyzing the evidence in the file, the Consumer Protection Investigations Directorate found that the results promised in reviewed pieces were subject to additional factors that were not indicated in the advertising itself, thereby transmitting a message that did not adjust to reality.”
