Hamas has released a video showing proof that two of its hosts are still alive amid Israel’s recent attempt to negotiate a peace agreement with the militant group.

The footage shows 64-year-old American Keith Siegel and 47-year-old Israeli Omri Miran sending a message to their families and appealing for their release. Siegel is shown crying in his video of him and saying he would like to celebrate Passover once again with his loved ones.

The Jewish Passover was celebrated during this week and is considered a very important Jewish celebration.

In his video, Miran said he had been held hostage for 202 days. His daughter appealed to world leaders to watch the video and ensure the hosts’ safety.

The Israeli government has faced unrelenting pressure during protests in the past months to work harder to release the hostages held by Hamas. There are even concerns the government will be forced to call an early election.

Miran’s father addressed one of the protests and said that while he was highlighted that his son was still alive, he appealed to Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu to accept any viable agreement that would lead to the release of the hostages.

Tens of thousands of people have been killed in Gaza during the war as Israel and Hamas continue discussing a possible ceasefire with Egypt and Qatar serving as mediators.

Hamas said it was considering Israel’s latest offer but made it clear that it would only accept an agreement that would guarantee the removal of Israeli troops from Gaza.
