Peruvian Prime Minister Gustavo Adrianzen on Sunday morning boarded the Peruvian Navy’s BAP Union sailing training ship, along with ministers of defense, interior, agrarian development and irrigation, production, foreign trade and tourism, energy and mines, housing, environment and culture.
The Peruvian ship set sail from the Great Bay of Lima and plans to arrive at Callao Naval Basand in the afternoon with the crew and cadets on board.
It returns from a successful instruction voyage after visiting 23 ports in 16 countries on 5 continents.
The circumnavigation began on June 17, 2023, and was intended to shape the nautical character of Peruvian Naval School cadets through mastery of the sea under the principles of sailing.
BAP Union, considered the largest and fastest sailing ship in Latin America, has traveled the seas of five continents for 10 months and a half.
During its journey, the ship carried the emblematic Peru Brand on its sail, which represents Peru’s identity and pride since its launch in 2011.
In addition, the House Peru exhibition and experience platform was installed inside it.
Such space disseminates the image of Peru through the exhibition of its ancient culture, tourist destinations, and flagship export products.
Furthermore, it pays tribute to the Bicentennial of the Battles of Junin and Ayacucho.
BAP Union’s first destination was the island of Tahiti, in French Polynesia, where it arrived on July 13, 2023, while the last stop before reaching Peru was Balboa (Panama).
