The charges stem from a shooting that took place on July 24, 2022 at The Spot Night Club in the Bennettsville area. Deputies were called to the nightclub where multiple people had been shot and taken to the hospital in personal vehicles.

During the investigation, club security video captured one of the suspects involved in the case. The suspect was identified as Erwin.

Three days after the shooting, Erwin was seen at a gas station by a deputy who then notified investigators.

Investigators arrived at the scene and placed Erwin under arrest and seized a gun from his car.

Erwin has been in custody since his arrest on July 27, 2022 on an attempted murder charge, but Marlboro County Sheriff’s Office received a SLED analysis report that shows the gun seized from him was used in the shooting which led to the murder charge.

Erwin is still being held at the Marlboro County Detention Center under no bond.
