Suspect in Bandung Woman’s Murder Found Dead in Suitcase Arrested in Palembang

Jakarta. The perpetrator of the murder of a woman from Bandung named RM, 50, who was found dead inside a suitcase, was arrested in Palembang, South Sumatra on Wednesday. The suspect, identified by his initials AARN, did not resist during the arrest.

The Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, Commissioner Ade Ary Syam Indradi, said that AARN is currently being taken to Jakarta for questioning regarding the case. The motive for the murder is still unknown.

“The perpetrator was arrested in Palembang and is currently on the way to Jakarta. Further investigation will be conducted,” he told when contacted on Wednesday.

Previously, RM was found dead inside a suitcase in Cikarang, Bekasi, West Java. When found, there were several wounds on RM’s body, from her nose to her head.

“The body of this woman was found with severe injuries to the left side of her head, blood was coming out of her nose, and her lips were split,” said Ade Ary Syam Indradi.

In the CCTV footage at a hotel in Bandung, the scene of the murder, RM was seen wearing a pink shirt with black pants. RM also appeared to be carrying a backpack.

Meanwhile, AARN was wearing an all-black outfit. AARN was seen carrying a mobile phone before entering the hotel room.

AARN was seen walking first in the hotel corridor with RM right behind him. In the CCTV footage, the two then entered the room on Wednesday, April 24 at 09:51 am Jakarta time

About 8 hours later, AARN was seen leaving the hotel room. He was carrying a suitcase believed to contain RM’s body of her.
