WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Free Comic Book Day is back as of Saturday, May 4, and people will be able to pick up five free comics while visiting Memory Lane Comics in Wilmington.

“We get to be Santa Claus this time of year and have so much fun introducing everyone to comic books, you can come in and pick out a big stack of books, we want to give away stuff to people who want to read and want to collect and experience what this is about,” Jake Motinger, co-owner for MLC, said.

The shop will have over 50 comics to choose from for free, as well as an all-day sale from 10 am to 7 pm

“If you’ve been to MLC for any Free Comic Book Day before, then you know we like to do things big and this year is no different. Once again, we’ll be taking over a whole bunch of Princess St. to give you the best Free Comic Book Day experience anywhere. We’ll be renting out a local venue and Princess St. neighbor, Bourgie Nights, to give us space to give out freebies. In addition, we’ll be hosting a local creator alley so you can meet some of the best and brightest local artists and writers!” MLC wrote on their Facebook page.

Memory Lane and Memory Lane Part II will also have several high-end items up for a raffle at the event.

You can find more information here or contact MLC by email or by calling (910) 392-6647.
