Nobody said that Loquillo I would continue along the established paths. That’s why back in the 90s, he took a turn at one of the highlights of his career, recording albums where he put music to the poetry contemporary of several authors.

Now, with this double album in deluxe edition, celebrate these 30 years fighting from verses of great poets among which also includes Serrat or Carlos Zanon, between Jaime Gil de Biedma and Octavio Paz.

“My career has always been daring and audacious. Life should be,” she explained in a interview with Noticias Cuatro. “I continue to see music as a cultural weapon, not as entertainment,” she warns when asked about the turn she took in his career when he was at the top with ‘Los Trogloditas’.

“Flee from old age, from everything that smells rancid. In my case she has been the movement and the paraphernalia of the 80s,” she explains, by way of justification.

A new tour starts with a poetry and rock show

At the same time, Loquillo will embark on a new tour that will take you through the best venues in the country where you will represent your poetry and rock show with his great band. The tour begins at the Teatro Circo Price in Madrid, where he will perform on May 2 and 3.

This new album is released in a limited edition in book format, with 2 CDs and a 52-page booklet with all the poems, detailed credits and a series of photos belonging to these poetic adventures.

With the invaluable guide by Gabriel Sopeña –who produced and adapted a large part of this work– chose poems that Sopeña brilliantly set to music and with which they recorded the mythical Life ahead back in 1994; an album that managed to become a Gold Record and included songs like The Life I See or I Will Not Be Young Again. This adventure continued four years later with another major work: With elegance. Loquillo continued working in parallel on this poetic facet with the soundtrack of Mujeres en pie de guerra or the album with poems by Luis Alberto de Cuenca called the name of him was the name of all the women.

He also brought his mix of poetry and rock to the stage, being the first artist of his generation to filled the Palau de la Música in Barcelona in 1994 with this proposal that, at that time, was more than risky. After the release of She Was All Women’s Name, she also undertook a tour of theaters throughout Spain, the culmination of which was the album recorded live at the Teatro Coliseum de Madrid Loquillo in Madrid. And without forgetting the times of the pandemic where, against any adversity, he went on a tour that was not free of risk and art in equal parts, but where he once again reeled off an unbeatable repertoire full of poetry and attitude, which was captured in the live album “Life is for those who take risks.” 30 years now with her gaze on poetry that she continues thanks to a new album with the verses of Julio Martínez Mesanza that is now available.
