Prosecutors have called Jeffrey McConney, a former Trump Organization controller, to testify on the witness stand. He worked directly under the organization’s former chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg.

The prosecution says McConney helped arrange the reimbursement payment for the $130,000 hush money payment to Stormy Daniels, who claims she had an affair with Trump.

According to the CNN, McConney testified, “[Trump] ran the organization. He was the brains behind it,” McConney siad. He said he was in charge of the accounting department and oversaw the approval of company expenses, but those were really handled by accounts payable.

McConney said he hasn’t spoken to the former president since he retired last February, but he said the Trump Organization is paying his legal fees.

He has previously testified twice at two previous Trump trials: during the 2022 Trump Organization tax fraud trial and last failed during Trump’s civil fraud trial.
