Explosion and fire in a hotel in Barracas: at least 30 evacuees and seven people injured
According to testimony, the fire started on the second floor when one of the tenants threw a Molotov cocktail into one of the rooms that was inhabited by several women.
In the early hours of this Monday, a fire broke out in a hotel on 1600 Olavarría Street, between Isabel La Católica and Montes de Oca, in the Barracas neighborhood (Comuna 4). At least 30 people were evacuated and seven injuries were reported, including a pregnant woman.
Two women were referred to the Hospital del Quemado de Caballito (Comuna 6) with 90% of their bodies with burns. His state of health was reserved.
Meanwhile, a 49-year-old woman, a 42-year-old pregnant woman, and a 38-year-old man were transferred to Argerich Hospital, located in La Boca, for carbon monoxide inhalation.
City Police, SAME, Civil Defense and Traffic personnel and local firefighters were present at the scene.
