Drafting. From the Arequipa region, located in southern Peru, the death of a 3-year-old girl was reported. She was the victim of a fire that started in her home after a cell phone exploded.

According to the first investigations by the Peruvian National Police (PNP), the little girl was not alone, but was with her older sister, 7 years old, who ended up seriously injured in a hospital in the area.

The event, which occurred on the night of Wednesday, May 8, took place in the district of Cayma.

Both little girls were taken to up to three medical centers to be helped: first to the Yanahuara Hospital of EsSalud, then to the Honorio Delgadol Hospital and, finally, they were taken to the Carlos Alberto Seguín Escobedo Hospital (CASE).

The youngest of the girls died in the ambulance, while the oldest is hospitalized in the emergency area with first and second degree burns.

This event recalled what happened with Melvin Marttini Rivera, a 24-year-old young man living in Surquillo, who was severely injured with burns after his mobile phone exploded while trying to charge it. This incident also caused a fire at his home.

Barnabas, Melvin’s brother, related to Panamericana Television that the accident occurred while Melvin was playing with his nephew and noticed that his cell phone was getting hot, which led him to try to charge it, triggering the explosion unexpectedly.
