TEMPLE, Texas (KWTX) – The Temple Police Department is investigating a traffic accident that resulted in an aggravated assault leaving two people injured.

According to police, around 11:30 Saturday morning, officers responded to the intersection of Westfield Blvd. and W. Adams Ave. for a traffic accident. Upon arrival, officers located the victim who said she and her daughter had walked up to the car that had hit them to discuss the accident when a woman got out of the car and started assaulting both of them.

Police say a bystander went to help the victims being assaulted when the woman ran back to her car, got in it, and struck the adult victim while fleeing the accident scene.

Both of the victims were transported for medical treatment and are expected to be okay. The suspect was located and taken into custody.
