Man airlifted to hospital after jet ski accident near Scots holiday park

EMERGENCY workers airlifted a man to hospital after he was injured in a jet ski incident near a holiday park.

Mercy crews from Police Scotland and the Coastguard services were called out after the chance got into trouble at around 5pm today.

It’s believed the man was hurt after he fell in the water near Auchenlarie Holiday Park in Castle Douglas, Dumfries and Galloway.

The man was helped to shore where coastguard crews from Prestwick are thought to have transferred him to Mossyard, near the Gatehouse of Fleet.

And there he was taken onboard an air ambulance.

The helicopter crew then took the man to Glasgow’s Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment.

A coastguard spokesperson said: “It was an incident in relation to a jet ski.

“A man had fallen off and was injured.

“He was recovered ashore and was taken to Mossyard where the Helimed took him to Glasgow hospital.

“The coastguard was just there to facilitate the transfer from the location of the incident to Mossyard.”

He added: “It was a police led operation.”

Auchenlarie Holiday Park is described as having “direct access to a secluded beach overlooking picturesque Wigtown Bay”.
