Atlético Grau regains form with a resounding 4-0 victory against Cusco FC

Atlético Grau de Piura ended its six-match winless streak with a convincing 4-0 win over Cusco FC on matchday 16 of the Apertura Tournament. The match, played at the Municipal Stadium of Piura, was dominated by the locals from the first minutes, thanks in large part to the outstanding performance of Mauro Da Luz, who scored two goals in the first half.

The Uruguayan striker opened the scoring just in the 6th minute, taking advantage of a defensive error by Cusco FC to beat the goalkeeper with a precise shot. Da Luz doubled Grau’s lead nine minutes later, consolidating his team’s superiority. Before concluding the first half, Neri Bandiera added the third goal, leaving the game practically sentenced to halftime.

In the second half, Atlético Grau slowed down, but maintained control of the game, waiting for opportunities to extend the lead. This came in the 85th minute, when Patricio Álvarez converted a penalty caused by a foul on Rafael Guarderas, scoring the fourth and final goal of the match.

This win puts Atlético Grau in a more comfortable position heading into the upcoming matches, while Cusco FC will need to regroup quickly ahead of their next home challenge against Alianza Lima, looking to improve their away form.
