Deportes Tolima achieved an epic 2-3 victory over Equidad this Saturday, at the Techo stadium, in an unusual comeback, as it lost 2-0 at the end of the first half, and won in the last play of the match, corresponding to date 3 of the B home run of the BetPlay I-2024 League.

Coach David González confessed that halftime was essential for the Tolima players to feel their pride, show attitude, and turn the result around to stay alive in group B.

“There is a special component and that is that our pride was touched a little. Walking into that dressing room at halftime and knowing that we were 50 minutes away from losing everything we worked on during the semester, that’s what motivated us. The attitude of the players, despite whatever happened in the first half, was to go out and do what we ended up doing. Obviously there were structural changes, many things, but it was definitely the attitude and love that these boys showed in these minutes,” commented the Tolima coach.

González gave all the credit to his players: “I didn’t lift anything, the boys lifted that. What more psychological and what more about winning this match and being able to enter a dressing room after winning in this way. Now, the clubhouse is 10 points after today.”
