Trempealeau County death now believed to be homicide

A suspicious death Wednesday in Trempealeau County is now believed to have been a homicide, according to the sheriff’s office on Sunday.

The death took place at around 8:30 pm in Ettrick near Hwy. 53 and County Road TT.

The sheriff’s office currently believes the incident was an isolated event and does not believe there is any danger to the public.

The deceased person’s identity has not yet been shared as of Sunday.

With the investigation is ongoing, law enforcement will continue to follow up on leads.

The sheriff’s office continues to ask anyone with home or business surveillance video or dash camera video from between Galesville and Blair that was taken from 7 to 9 pm Wednesday to reach out to the office by calling 715-538-4351 or [email protected]

People who were traveling the route in that timeframe should also reach out to if they have information that could be related to the death.

“On behalf of the law enforcement community, we would like to thank all of the citizens and business owners in and around the community for their continued support and cooperation,” the sheriff’s office stated in a press release Sunday.

The state Department of Criminal Investigation, State Patrol and the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office are working with Trempealeau County law enforcement.
