Through Resolution 224/2024 issued by the National Gas Regulatory Entity (ENARGAS), the national government decided to suspend increases in the tariff of gas scheduled for May 2024.

The measure responds to an instruction from the Ministry of Economy, which – through a communication to the Secretariat of Energy– argued that the postponement “is necessary to consolidate the disinflation process initiated by the Government.”

Meanwhile, the ENARGAS notified the companies providing the public gas transportation and distribution service that the planned tariff update will not proceed, maintaining the values in force since April 3, 2024. In addition, they were instructed to maintain the value included in the tariff tables for localities supplied by indiluted propane gas by networks.

The resolution also contemplates that the values of the Seasonal Price of Energy in the Wholesale Electricity Market will not be modified (PEST) nor the Price of the Transportation System Input (PIST) for May 2024 consumption, following the instructions of the Ministry of Economy.

The resolution, which bears the signature of the ENARGAS auditor, Carlos Alberto Maria Casaresindicates in article 1: “Maintain unchanged the Transition Rate Schedules and Rates and Charges for Services in force since April 3, 2024 by virtue of the Considering Clauses of this Resolution.”
