LAUDERHILL, Fla. – Surveillance video captured a major crash Thursday morning in Lauderhill that left four people hospitalized.
The accident was reported at the intersection of Northwest 14th Street and 31st Avenue.
Video obtained by Local 10 News shows the moment of impact. A light-colored sedan begins to turn onto 14th Street and is struck at the intersection by another vehicle.
The speed behind the accident sent both cars flying down the street. Fire, smoke and debris followed, leaving people standing outside the food market directly across the street shocked.
The store manager, identified only as Melvin, immediately ran into the store and grabbed a fire extinguisher.
Lauderhill Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Levy confirmed four people were transported to Broward Health Medical Center, one in cardiac arrest and three others on trauma alerts.
Lauderhill police closed 31st Avenue and some side streets during the investigation, which is ongoing.
