The president of the Argentine Agrarian Federation (FAA), Carlos Achetoni, died this morning in a traffic accident in the Province of Buenos Aires. The organization itself reported the death through a statement on its social networks.

“Argentine Agrarian Federation regrets to report the death this morning of its president, Carlos Achetoni, in a car accident. This unfortunate event mourns and saddens the leadership and all the federated members,” said the official statement.

“From the entity, we accompany and embrace Mary, her children and her entire family in these devastating moments. We will always remember him fighting for the small and medium-sized producers and the regional economies that he has represented so much and so well,” added the brief communication.

According to details released by Chacra magazine, the accident occurred in the route 188, between Ameghino and Granada, Buenos Aires province. The death of the rural leader occurred around midnight at kilometer 305 of the route when a Fiat Palio car collided with the back of a truck.

According to the police report, Achetoni was the only occupant of the Palio and also the only fatal victim of the accident. The crash, according to police data, was against a grain truck. Achetoni’s car collided with the back of the truck, which was going in the same direction. The driver of the truck was taken to hospital although with no visible injuries.

The accident took place at kilometer 305 of route 188, between Ameghino and Granada, province of Buenos Aires.

According to close friends and colleagues of the FAA, Achetoni was traveling from Rosario – where the entity is based – to his home, located in Bowen, General Alvear, province of Mendoza. It was not unusual for the rural leader to make these trips after finishing the day’s work in the Federation to return to his family.

The rest of the rural organizations began to express their condolences for the loss of the FAA leader. The Liaison Table published a joint statement while other entities added their regrets.

“From the Commission of Agricultural Liaison Entities we express with deep regret the death of Carlos Achetoni, an exceptional rural leader and a person of immense human quality. His dedication and commitment to the agricultural sector have left an indelible mark on our community,” says the text released by the Mesa de Enlace.

According to those close to him, Achetoni was traveling from Rosario – where the FAA headquarters is located – to his home in Bowen, General Alvear, province of Mendoza.

“Carlos was an inspiring leader whose integrity and values ​​will always guide our efforts. His kindness, warmth and caring spirit made him an endearing figure, respected and admired by all those who had the privilege of knowing and working with him. We extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time. The loss of Carlos leaves an irreplaceable void, but his legacy will live on in our hearts. May he rest in peace,” added the organizations that participate in the table together with the FAA.
