Lack of gas: The Government confirmed the arrival of the ship from Brazil and said that the service will be normalized tonight

The presidential spokesperson, Manuel Adorni, confirmed that during the morning of this Wednesday the unloading of a Petrobras LNG ship began and assured that “for the early hours of tonight” The service will be normalized.

In his usual press conference at Casa Rosada, Adorni explained that the delay was due to a problem with a letter of credit issued by Banco Nación last Friday. “There was a rejection from the company,” he said. “It ended up being solved and this morning the gas discharge began,” he added.

“We are facing the harshest winter in the last 44 years and demand increased by around 55%, going from 44 million cubic meters to around 70. Such a sudden increase in demand makes you have problems in this distribution that “It would not have happened, the impact would not have been felt, if on Friday the letter of credit had proceeded as we expected.”said the spokesperson.

Asked if this situation could repeat itself during winterwhen even lower temperatures are expected, Adorni said that the Government is doing “every effort is made to ensure that this does not happen”.

“It is clearly an atypical winter, with atypical temperatures and a cold record for these times since 1980,” he noted. And he assured that behind this first ship that was unloaded today in Escobar, “there are another dozen that will collaborate so that there is no shortage of gas now or in the future.”
