Miss Universe 2024 is getting closer. The beauty pageant will celebrate its 73rd edition in Mexico – the exact venue is not yet confirmed – on September 28, 2024. The organization of the event announced some changes that the format will have regarding the age of the participants (they may be between 18 and 28 years old as of January 1 of the year in which they will compete). Sheynnis Palacios (Nicaragua) will meet her successor on the throne. Daniela Toloza will be in Colombia.

Raúl Rocha Cantú, Mexican businessman, announced the 2024 venue during the last edition of the contest. The first time Mexico had Miss Universe was in 2007 and this will be its fifth opportunity to host the most important beauty pageant in the world.

So far, there are 19 confirmed candidates for the 73rd edition of the contest. Colombia, Myanmar, Albania, Ecuador, Kosovo, Laos, Montenegro, Peru, Portugal, Iran, Puerto Rico, Bolivia, Serbia, Netherlands, Poland, Jamaica, Chile, Guatemala, Malta, Thailand, Guyana, Canada, Ireland, Rucas Islands and Caicos, Great Britain, United States, Gibraltar, Cayman Islands, Australia, Cuba, Denmark, Vietnam and Mexico Their representative remains to be defined.

Cuba is one of the main surprises, as it returns after almost 60 years of leaving the competition. Saudi Arabia, Belarus, Eritrea, Iran and North Macedonia, on the other hand, are the debutants in the competition.
