Camila Avella has made history in the Miss Universe Colombia pageant being the first married woman with children to win this prestigious title, reflecting a significant change in the norms and criteria of traditional beauty pageants.

This June 1, after a year of outstanding work and representation, Avella will present the crown to the new Miss Universe Colombia in a ceremony that promises to be emotional and significant, marking the closing of a reign that has left an indelible mark on the history of the contest.

Camila Avella talked about her time at Miss Universe
On the verge of closing this chapter of her life, the queen spoke on RCN’s morning news program Buen Día Colombia, where she mentioned topics such as her relationship with the other contestants in the beauty pageant and her motherhood, which was widely criticized.
According to Avella, the women made “passive-aggressive” comments to her involving her relationship with her daughter for leaving her alone.
“In my case, I was able to share with extremely beautiful girls and very good people. Obviously, the insecurity that women have can be reflected in others, without doing it on purpose. But, “I received a lot of passive-aggressive comments from some people, but they didn’t affect me emotionally.”, said Mis Universe Colombia.
In turn, he added: “One of them told me: ‘How sad it is to leave your daughter Amelia alone, abandoned.’ “So I didn’t pay attention and didn’t go in to defend myself because I wasn’t in a position to do so.”

Camila stressed that these comments did not affect her, because she was aware of what a good wife and mother “emotional intelligence” was, essential in this type of situation.
