After the National Electoral Institute (INE) published the preliminary results of the presidency of the Republic, Jorge Álvarez Máynez of Citizen Movement (MC) thanked the millions of people who supported him during his campaign and in the elections this June 2 in Mexico.

The candidate for MC pointed out in said message that his main distinction in the race was respecting the law throughout the electoral process. Furthermore, he reported that he will have a statement after the National Electoral Institute (INE) provide the results of the Quick Count.

In the last update at 9:45 p.m. of the Preliminary Electoral Results Program (PREP) of the National Electoral Institute (INE), it was pointed out that Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo has 58.99% of the votes, with more than 1 and a half million votes, which which positions her as the future president of Mexico. For her part, Xóchitl Gálvez Ruíz has 28.83% of the votes and Jorge Álvarez Máynez with 9.66%.

The results will be updated over the next 24 hours until all the scrutiny and counting records of the more than 170 thousand polling stations that were installed in the country, in addition to those carried out abroad, are counted.

However, the candidate of the “Let’s Keep Making History” alliance is positioned as the future first female president in Mexico, so the victory is attributed to Claudia Sheinbaum after having a considerable advantage compared to her contenders.
