The elections in Mexico City They have already concluded and with this the counting of votes has begun to define the new heads of the Head of Government, the 16 capital mayors, 66 local councils and more than 200 councils, as well as various positions at the federal level, among which stands out the Presidency of the Republic.

He Electoral Institute of Mexico City is in charge of reporting the Preliminary Electoral Results Program (PREP), whose data can now be consulted through the internet portal. However, you can also consult the results here at INFOBAE México, as we are official broadcasters of this election day.

Later, around 10:00 p.m., the president of the National Electoral Institute (INE), Guadalupe Taddei, will report on the first results of the Quick Count of votes for the Head of Government and eight more governorships.

According to the INE, the PREP is a system that provides preliminary election results, through the capture and publication of the data recorded by the polling station officials in the scrutiny and counting records of the polling stations that are received at the Data Collection and Transmission Centers (CATD).

This system makes it possible to publicize real time and over the Internetthe preliminary results of the elections on the same night of Election Day, “with certainty, timeliness and using the most advanced technology.”

For this reason, it is considered one of the electoral information mechanisms contemplated in the General Law of Electoral Institutions and Procedures.

  • The Quick Vote Count estimates the trend of election results, while the PREP offers preliminary results.
  • The Quick Count takes place on election night and the PREP operates for 24 hours starting at 8:00 p.m. that same day.
  • The Quick Count is a statistical procedure that takes only some cells as the results, unlike the PREP that collects information from all the cells.
  • The results of the Quick Count are announced in a public message to citizens, while the PREP is presented in real time and only through the internet portal.

According to the INE platform, the citizens of the capital today will vote for the positions:

  • 1 Head of Government.
  • 66 local councils.
  • 16 Mayor’s Offices.
  • 204 Councillors.
  • Added to this are federal level positions, which are: Presidency of the Republic, senatorial offices and federal deputations.
