The magic of Disney Destinations will arrive every Sunday in June at Espacio Iberia located on Madrid’s Gran Vía, offering all visitors a series of activations, workshops and magical surprises to bring the public closer to Disney Destinations around the world.

This is just some of the experiences offered by the Iberia Space, inaugurated last April and which until next July 31 will continue to offer in the main artery of Madrid the possibility of learning about the airline’s innovation initiatives, enjoying the experiences aboard an A350, fly in a flight simulator with an instructor, or travel back in time in one of the company’s first planes.

During the month of June, Espacio Iberia will be transformed into a magical experience for families. In collaboration with Disney Destinations, Iberia presents Magic Sundays with a special theme that will allow families to learn about and experience their flights and discover magical Disney destinations

The experience begins as soon as you enter, when each family receives a boarding pass that guides them through the different activities and encourages them to look for the hidden Mickeys that will give them the opportunity to participate in a magical raffle.

The experiences include virtual reality glasses with 360º images of the three Disney destinations (Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Disneyland Paris and Disney Cruise Line), screenings of short films and Disney content and two interactive workshops: Disneyland Paris Animation Studio and Royal Dressing Room .

In them, families have the opportunity to learn to draw their favorite Disney Characters from the artist and Goya winner, Paco Sáez, and to participate in a face painting workshop for all ages.

Furthermore, in collaboration with the Juegaterapia Foundation, the special Disney edition of the famous ‘Baby Pelones’ is available in the Espacio Iberia store.

IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCES AND FLIGHT SIMULATORS.

The Iberia Space is a space of 1,100 square meters, distributed over two floors, where the airline’s customers and the general public will be able to enjoy everything that Iberia offers, live unique experiences through virtual reality, feel like one of the the airline’s first travelers thanks to the recreation of one of its first planes, or discover the service offered on board the new generation A350 in its three cabin types: Business, Premium Economy and Economy.

Until July 31, visitors will be able to participate in different tastings of wine, beer, coffee or products from the destinations to which the airline flies, and attend activities and meetings of the Talent on Board program.

One of the most original proposals for visitors is the flight simulator located at the entrance to the space that will offer visitors the possibility of enjoying a unique immersive experience with the possibility of taking off and landing at some of the most significant airports in the world. Iberia network such as Madrid, London, Paris, Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Bogotá or Doha.

A 10-minute flight accompanied by instructions from an instructor to get behind one of the Spanish flag airline’s planes and feel like a ‘real’ pilot.

Furthermore, on the upper floor, visitors will be able to enjoy the gastronomic proposal that the airline offers at 30,000 feet above sea level but without taking off from the ground, sitting in the seats of an A350. While you enjoy the comfort of your seats, you will taste the onboard menus, prepared daily by DO&CO in its kitchens and based on the richness of the Mediterranean diet, with local seasonal products.

INNOVATION AND SUSTAINABILITY.

This new edition of Espacio Iberia is the most innovative of all. Visitors will be able to try the new virtual reality experience with the Apple Vision Pro with which they will access an exhibition in which the physical and the virtual are mixed, and which will allow them, among other things, to learn what an airplane engine is like. and how it is disassembled piece by piece.

By using Meta’s Oculus Quest virtual reality glasses, they will access the first experience of Espacio Iberia in the metaverse, a place where they can learn more about the company or feel, for example, a new immersive travel experience on the A350s of Meta. Iberia.

Through explanatory panels, visitors will be able to learn about the actions that Iberia is carrying out in the field of sustainability, with the incorporation of new generation A350 and A320 aircraft that reduce emissions in flight by 35%, betting on sustainable fuels with the commitment to achieve net emissions by 2050 and improving the travel experience by making it more sustainable thanks to on-board waste management, digitalization and the circular economy.

Another of the great novelties of Espacio Iberia is the recreation of the first airplane in which the airline began its commercial activity in 1927, the Rohrbach Roland. Visitors will be able to access the interior of their cabin and take a trip back in time that will take them to know how people traveled on these first airplanes. To make the experience more authentic, visitors can dress in period costumes and take home a video souvenir of this historic journey.
