«The works have turned the center of Don Benito into an escape room»

The urban planning actions in the different enclaves of Don Benito are causing, in the opinion of the PSOE, social and economic damage in the town. The socialists, in a press conference, point out the works in the Plaza de España and in other main arteries of the central area, “whose programming is not only generating problems for neighbors and businessmen, but has also caused traffic chaos in area”.

The socialist councilors Manuel Gómez and Enrique Talavera have indicated that, from the PSOE, they are “very aware of the importance of the materialization of certain urban projects to improve the quality of life of their neighbors and energize certain areas of our city.”

“We find ourselves with a disastrous management of construction planning that has left us with a city built, without order or concert,” says Manuel Gómez. Enrique Talavera, for his part, argues that the coincidence of several works at the same time has turned circulation through the urban center of Don Benito “into an authentic escape room.”

Last plenary session

In his speech, Manuel Gómez also referred to the last plenary session, held last Monday, understanding that the mayor “has once again given new examples of her unique way of managing plenary sessions, silencing the opposition in their turns to speak, trying to avoid citizen participation and making our work of controlling the government difficult.

It is worth remembering that a few days ago the new municipal organic regulation was published in the BOP that Gómez asks to be respected when carrying out the plenary sessions, “respecting both the order of intervention and the times of each political group” which, after the modification, have been reduced.
