Detroit (USA), June 17 (EFE).- Republican Senator James David Vance, known as JD Vance, is the favorite to be the vice presidential candidate of former US president Donald Trump (2017-2021) according to an internal survey by the conservative group Turning Point USA, close to Trumpism.

Turning Point USA held its conference over the weekend in Detroit (Michigan), in which Trump himself participated, and in which he asked 1,986 attendees about their preferences for vice president.

43% of respondents chose Vance as their favorite, with a large advantage over fellow senators Tim Scott (15.4%), Marco Rubio (7.7%) and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, with 7%, according to data provided by the Daily Mail.

Trump will announce in the coming days or weeks who he has chosen to accompany him in the Republican candidacy for the White House for the November elections.

The Republicans will officially proclaim them candidates during their national convention, which will take place in Milwaukee (Wisconsin) between July 15 and 18.
