The Climb to Mirador de Güímar, next appointment for Lauren García and her Nova Proto NP01: “It is a test that brings back many memories”

The Arico driver will once again compete in the Climb to Mirador de Güímar, a test that he has special appreciation for and in which he will try to do a good job at the controls of his Nova Proto NP01 Judd. The event, which has been revived after a few years, takes place this Saturday, June 22.

Just a couple of weeks after her last participation, Lauren García faces this weekend an event that she has special appreciation for: the Climb to Mirador de Güímar. This year, the Tenerife event, which has been revived after a few seasons, will celebrate its 49th edition.

It is eligible for points for the inter-island mountain competition, a championship led by Wolf Lubricants after having won on the slopes of Hermigua (La Gomera) and Los Loros (Tenerife). Beyond that aspect, the Arico driver wants to get rid of the regret of his last visit to Güímar, where he was left with honey on his lips after the practice session, a session in which he set a time of 2: 14.742. After three years, the Nova Proto NP01 rider will have the opportunity to repeat some of the triumphs that he already achieved in the past on this historic mountain ramp.

“It is a test that brings back many memories,” says Lauren García. “I can say that I grew up in it, I always went with my father and I remember that it was spectacular, always with many fans,” remembers the one from Arico. “On the last occasion I was left wanting to set a good time, but now I once again have the opportunity to compete on this track and the objective will be none other than to have fun and entertain the spectators,” she says.

This mountain test that takes place on the TF-28 highway has a route of 4880 m, a gradient of 189 m and an average slope that is close to 4%. The official training round will begin this Saturday, June 22 at 9:00 a.m., to give way to the two official rounds that will end up defining the best of this edition.

Lauren García has the support of Wolf Lubricantes, Recambios Valladares, EuroTaller Larauto, Antonio Suárez Baute e Hijos, Iscan Motors, Vigcan Seguridad, Canaribat, Ayuntamiento Villa de Arico, Clínica Dental Dentiten, Auriol Izquierdo Canarias Trucks & Industriales, TRD Servicios, Dapial Transport, Emap Motors and Gas 39.
