One day into winter, there are still schools without gas in San Juan

A few hours before winter begins and the low temperatures, which have already been felt in San Juan since May, many educational buildings are not yet ready, according to the Government.

From the Provincial Directorate of Gas Networks of San Juan they indicated that they are working intensively in schools to restore gas service and improve facilities. “The lack of updated documentation and Ecogas’ inspection deadlines have contributed to the delays,” they argued.

According to what they found, of the 24 affected schools, they were only able to restore gas in 8 “and work is being done in the remaining ones,” they stated. In addition, “work is being carried out in 52 establishments to comply with safety regulations and be able to erect the site established by ECOGAS,” they indicated in a statement.

“Approximately 20 complaints are managed daily with the support of three contracted companies. In remote areas, schools receive attention from contracted companies. Ecogas inspections are ongoing, carried out by Gas Network personnel and specialized companies, to ensure that the facilities comply with the regulations,” they added from Redes de Gas San Juan.
