Atlantic City Police Cars Involved in Accident That Knocked Down Traffic Lights – Telemundo 62

A crash involving at least two police vehicles ruined a traffic light in a Jersey Shore town, according to authorities.

The incident occurred at the intersection of MLK Boulevard and Pacific Avenue in Atlantic City.

A spokesperson for the Atlantic City Police Department issued an alert saying officers were responding to reports of a robbery in the 100 block of Park Place when the crash occurred just before 6 p.m.

According to authorities, two officers who were in the police vehicles were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say a third vehicle was hit by the traffic light. No one was injured in that car.

Photos from the scene show an Atlantic City Police Department car halfway onto the sidewalk with damage to the front passenger side bumper and driver’s door.

It looks as if a traffic light pole is completely down and the lights are crushed into the pavement.

A second police car was visible with its trunk open and apparently came to rest under the fallen traffic light.

During the alleged robbery that officers were initially responding to, the suspect allegedly grabbed him around the waist to show he was carrying a gun, police said. The suspect was not found.
