A new Bahia classic was played in the Federal A soccer team, between Olimpo and Villa Mitre.
At Carminatti, Aurinegro beat Tricolor 2-0 with goals from Leandro Larrea and Diego Ramírez.
In total they played 28 times, with 12 Olimpo victories, 10 for Tricolor (one on penalties) and 6 draws.
The first time was in Argentino A, equivalent today to Federal A. In that season, 1995/96, they met four times:
9-24-95: Olimpo 2 – Villa Miter 3 (Solana and Comino / Amaya and Sánchez.
11-12-95: Villa Miter 2 – 1 Olimpo (in Liniers. Gilardi and Ochoa / Rodríguez).
1-14-96: Olimpo 6 – 1 Villa Miter (Rodríguez x2, Morán x2, Álvarez and Tassara / Amaya).
3-3-96: Villa Miter 2 – 1 Olimpo (López x2 / Cisneros).
After that season, and both without qualifying, the AFA reorganized the National B and made them play a playoff to be promoted.

Aurinegro rose that year and in 1999 Tricolor did, so they finally met again in the Argentine second division, for three seasons.

In 2001 Olimpo was promoted to Primera and remained until 2006, when it had to be relegated. Villa Miter had gone down to Argentino but returned to B Nacional, and they crossed paths again.

In 2019, fate brought them together again, now with both in the third division.
