Inti Raymi and Fiesta de San Juan will generate more than S/ 72 million in income in regions

According to figures from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), the celebrations for the Inti Raymi and the San Juan Festival that begin today, June 24, would generate income that exceeds S/ 72 million, thanks to the mobilization of more of 196 thousand people.

The Inti Raymi in Cusco is expected to contribute 43 million soles to the local economy and the San Juan Festival will contribute 29 million to the Amazon regions of Loreto, Ucayali, San Martín, Madre de Dios and Huánucoamong other.

According to Mincetur projections, the number of visitors to the city of Cusco generated by attendance at the Inti Raymi festival would be approximately 45,500; what will mean a increase of 26.4% more in relation to the June 2023 festivities.

Of these attendees, approximately 50% would be local residents of Cuscofollowed by foreign tourists and a quarter of national tourists.

According to information from previous years, among the foreign visitors, resident tourists from the United States, Brazil and Colombia stood out. In the case of national tourists, the majority came from the city of Lima.
