It was stated by the Minister of Public Works and Services, Gabriela Castillo, within the framework of a tour with CAMUZZI technical teams of the Ushuaia Electricity Generation Plant.

The official commented in this regard that “in accordance with what was agreed with the operations manager of CAMUZZI, a visual inspection was carried out today at the facilities of the measurement point of the Ushuaia power plant, in the area where the compressor and the control panel are located. control of the Rolls Royce.”

“The situation will be analyzed based on technical information to be provided by the DPE to see some solution in the future, but there is no alternative for immediate improvement given that it would be arriving in the city of Ushuaia, according to the information provided by CAMUZZI, 27 bar of gas pressure at this moment, which is very little, 5 bar less than what normally happens,” he added.

Likewise, Castillo explained that “maneuvering the compressor would guarantee us greater stability exclusively in the Rolls Royce, but it will not allow us to connect the other turbines that we have offline because we need greater gas delivery for them. We will continue working to see what alternative can be carried out after we have the return of CAMUZZI, but the problem is structural, it is a system one. There is greater consumption in each of the cities of the province which causes not only the flow but also the gas pressure to drop and this means that we have a very low income compared to what we usually receive.”

Finally, the Minister reported that “unfortunately we will have to continue scheduling power cuts, because since there are two turbines that are not connected at this time, the consumption load in the city must be reduced.”

“Today we need as an extreme action to reduce electricity consumption as much as possible. We know the difficulty of buildings that are completely electric, but it is necessary to make rational use of the resource, because there is no way to sustain the energy production that the city needs. We will try by all means to reduce scheduled outages to the minimum possible, rotating the areas to minimize inconvenience to users,” he concluded.
