Several veterans of the virtual reality industry, with experience in the development of titles such as Onward, Iron Man VR, Blacktop Hoops, Stilt and Zenithhave founded Niorun Studios. His first project is Tier One: Direct Action, a tactical FPS inspired by ArmA and Rainbow Six Siege. It will arrive at the end of this year to App Lab (Quest) and in 2025 to the rest of the VR platforms.

Its creators define it as the spiritual successor to Onward, the “definitive title for players looking for a modern and realistic tactical shooter.” The fights are set in the near future, with the elite agents of two factions, Specter and Buran, involved in a high-stakes conflict.

It will have 10 PvP and PvE game modes, although at launch we will only be able to enjoy Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Satcom (Target Mode). TO Tier One: Direct Action No detail will be missing: variety of weapons and equipment with realistic handling, character customization and progression, realistic immersive mechanics, training area, maps with day and night cycles, destructible environments, etc.

A Kickstarter campaign will start in July to support the game, which will be released in the third quarter of the year in the early access phase in App Lab (Quest). In the first half of 2025 it will arrive on PICO, PC VR and PlayStation VR2, but not with all the final content, which will be available through regular updates on all platforms at the end of next year.
