In a tragic event that occurred overnight, the rookie cornerback of the Minnesota Vikings, Khyree Jacksonalong with two former college football players, lost their lives in a car accident.

According to Maryland State Police, Jackson, 24, was killed in a three-vehicle crash at 3:14 a.m. Saturday in Prince George’s County.

Isaiah Hazel and Anthony Lytton Jr., both former high school teammates of Jackson, also perished in the crash. Hazel, 23, had a career at Maryland and Charlotte, while Lytton, 24, played for Florida State and Penn State, according to authorities.

The police report detailed that Hazel was driving a Dodge Charger with Jackson as a passenger when her vehicle was struck by an Infiniti Q50 that was attempting to change lanes at a high rate of speed.

The Dodge left the road and collided with several tree stumps. Police confirmed that Jackson and Hazel died at the scene, while Lytton was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Infiniti Q50 and his two passengers, as well as the driver of the third vehicle involved, were not injured. Investigators suspect alcohol may have been a factor in the crash and have indicated that charges are expected.

Khyree Jackson played his final season of college football at Oregon, and his coach, Dan Lanning, was one of many figures who paid tribute to Jackson on social media.
