After a four-year hiatus, Famosos por la Vida – the Fundaleu gala – returned to occupy its privileged place in the social calendar of Buenos Aires charities and brought together the great figures to celebrate their silver anniversary. Nobody wanted to miss it: Mirtha Legrand, Susana Giménez, Pampita Ardohain (in her first outing after separating from Roberto García Moritán), Nicole Neumann and Manu Urcera, Facundo Arana and María Susini, the Golden Triplets, Rossella Della Giovampaola and Gustavo Yankelevich They were some of the 380 guests who were present at the Alvear Palace Hotel starting at 8 p.m. to support the foundation, a benchmark in research, teaching and oncohematological diseases.
Among the nicest postcards that occurred during the cocktail, one of them was seeing Tinto, collector Eduardo Cohen’s dog, circulating. “He is 12 years old and he comes with me everywhere, even to the theater,” the owner of the renowned Arita antique shop (it is attached to the hotel) told HELLO! Argentina.
Splendid, Nicole Neumann arrived arm in arm with her husband, the pilot Manu Urcera. And although it seemed that this would be a night “only for two,” the model – who has already rejoined Los 8 Escalones – clarified that in a while they would bring Cruz, her three-month-old baby: “These outings are a little stressful , but we had to start getting out into life, we were very secluded. Now the weather is nice, the baby has his vaccines, he behaves well, and I prefer to have him with me. Since he only breastfeeds, they will be taking care of him in a quiet room and I will come over when he needs me.” Urcera, who a day before ran Turismo Nacional in San Juan (he came second) and in fifteen days will participate in a TC race in San Nicolás, confided: “I’m going to see if they can accompany me that weekend because I miss the baby when I travel. In three or four days it is incredible how quickly they grow.” A few meters away, the Golden Triplets, accompanied by their husbands, were celebrating that they had just launched their own perfume; and Benito Fernández, who went with his daughter Marina, said that he feels recovered after the peak of stress for which he was hospitalized. “I am moved by the love I received. Even Queen Maxima [la viste hace años] He sent me a very affectionate message on WhatsApp. “She is a queen in every sense,” he confided to HELLO! On the other hand, Rossella della Giovampaola asked Marley to introduce her to Mirko. And the driver, very proud of his 6-year-old son, not only introduced him to him, but also gave him the most tender anecdote: Mirko asked him to bring a coin because he wanted to add his two cents.
At 9pm, when it was time to go to the Versailles room and sit at the tables, Mirtha and Susana made their triumphant entrance just three minutes apart: Chiqui sat at the Consultatio table next to Eduardo Costantini (Elina, his wife, this time could not accompany him), and Su, in RGB, escorted by his daughter Mecha Sarrabayrouse and Gustavo Yankelevich.
Andrea Frigerio was, once again, the master of ceremonies and introduced each of the celebrities who, through an apron, became Celebrity Waiters. After an amuse bouche of smoked eggplant, date syrup and curried sugared almond powder, the menu continued with the first of its three steps: salted pea and mint butter toffee, yogurt and cucumber cream, lemony prawns, roe of trout and petals.
Víctor Savanti, president of Fundaleu, took the stage to thank those present and expressed: “We work tirelessly to make a significant difference in the health of the entire community. ‘Famous for Life’ represents a unique opportunity for supportive people and leaders from different fields to come together to contribute to this noble cause.
“One more year, the gala will be the perfect setting for the union between health, science and solidarity.” After the general applause, DJ Héctor Suasnabar turned up the music and to the rhythm of “Volare”, Benito Fernández and Pampita Ardohain, among others, opened the floor with couples that were chosen by lottery: to the model, who did not want to say a single word Regarding her recent and high-profile separation, she had to dance with Agustín Devoto, and then she continued with Hernán Piquín (who previously danced with Karina Mazzocco) and with her friend Barbie Simmons.
The main course – duck confit with creamy cabutia and coconut, wild asparagus and portobellos – returned everyone to their tables for the auction of a white gold and diamond ring from Santino, which opened with a base of 8 million of pesos. “We did the last auction in 2019, so today I am on fire, willing to do anything to raise a lot. At any nod I’ll take the offer. Let’s do it quickly, dynamically and easily,” said Iván de Pineda, who put the rhythm to the auction and managed to close it at eleven million. There were scratch cards with very important prizes, such as stays at the Alvear, Costa Galana, Loi Iguazú hotels (that one with ticket included) or the Posada del Quenti. Also a Calfún jacket and a Bang & Olufsen speaker. And the bags with products (this year from Rochas), a classic that characterizes this charity, were once again the protagonists. The 350 that had been prepared were sold, at a value of 70 thousand pesos each and Facundo Arana and María Belén Ludueña were the best sellers.
The dance before dessert (brownie with nuts, chocolate and orange ganache and passion fruit ice cream) came with the hits of Luis Miguel, which Zulemita Menem sang in their entirety while dancing with Rodolfo D’Onofrio and with Flavia Palmiero and Teresa Calandra. And even though Denise Dumas’ sciatica hurt (that’s what Frigerio told her over the microphone), she looked like a true dancing queen. After midnight, when the party began to come to an end, the best news was announced: 180 million pesos were raised so that Fundaleu can continue fulfilling its noble mission.
