New cloudy day in AMBA: the hottest day of the week is approaching

The clouds and mild weather will continue this Thursday, October 10 in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA)without breaking the temperature ranges of recent days. Changes of magnitude are expected for Friday, since the National Meteorological Service predicted the hottest day of the week, with a maximum temperature that will climb to 28°.

This Thursday the sky will dawn mostly cloudywithout notable variations throughout the day.

The minimum temperature in the AMBA will be 15° and the maximum (at sunset) will reach 22°. The winds will blow up to 22 kilometers per hour, with a predominant northeast direction. In principle, no gusts or precipitation are expected.

For Friday the sky will continue to be partially cloudy in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires, but the maximum temperature will take a “jump”, until reaching 28°.

The forecast will take a turn again on the weekend, with a drop in temperature (the maximum would drop to 21°) and chance of isolated rainboth Saturday and Sunday.

Yellow alert in eight provinces

On the other hand, the SMN declared yellow alert in several provinces of the national territorywhether due to strong winds, heavy rains and/or storms:

  • Catamarca: rain;
  • Formosa: storm;
  • Tucumán: rain;
  • Jujuy: wind;
  • La Rioja: rain;
  • Missions: storm;
  • Santa Cruz: wind;
  • Tierra del Fuego: rain and wind.

Yellow level alerts correspond to possible meteorological phenomena with the potential for damage and risk of momentary interruption of daily activities.

Regarding recommendations in the face of a storm scenario, the National Meteorological Service suggests a series of measures:

  • Do not take out the trash. Remove objects that prevent water from draining.
  • Avoid outdoor activities.
  • Do not take shelter near trees and electricity poles that could
  • fall.
  • To minimize the risk of being struck by lightning, it is recommended not to stay on beaches, rivers, lagoons or pools.
  • Be alert to the possible fall of hail.
  • Stay informed by the authorities. Always have an emergency backpack ready with a flashlight, radio, documents and telephone.
