After midnight yesterday, a new edition of Martín Fierro de Radio ended at the La Rural property, in the city of Buenos Aires,
Luis VenturaPresident of APTRAgave an opening speech at the gala in which he maintained that radio “is not dead” and thanked the resurgence of streaming services that keep radio alive.
He Journalist Nelson Castro was awarded tonight with the Martín Fierro de Radio de Oro for his work on AM Rivadavia. Castro had achieved two other Martín Fierro for journalistic hosting and for “Chronicle of a Death Foretold”, as best afternoon journalistic program.
For its part, the Martín Fierro de Oro on FM went to Santiago del Moroof the 100.
Upon receiving the statuette, Castro stated that “the crack brutalizes us and the plurality enriches us”. “We must build a society of respect and we journalists have a responsibility to defend the pluralism of all authoritarianisms,” he highlighted in La Rural.
“Things Happened,” hosted by Alejandro Bercovich on Radio Con Vos, was chosen as the best Vespertino FM Daily Journalism Program. When going up on stage to receive the statuette, The elDiarioAR columnist dedicated the award to “all journalists who seek the truth, at a time when the truth is so devalued.” At the same time, he demanded the release of those detained for protests against the Bases law in Congress.
On the Radio Rivadavia side, in addition to the great triumph of Nelson Castro, lJournalist Cristina Pérez won in the category of best female driver; the Rotario del Aire won in the information service for second consecutive Year.
Besides, Ariel Tarico won the award for best humorous work for his role in Radio Rivadavia programs.
While, FM Metro won an award for best “educational-cultural program” and “Nadie nos para”, from FM Rock & Pop, hosted by Beto Casella, won in the FM morning journalistic program category.
Upon receiving the award, Cristina Pérez said she was excited about the recent death of her father, that she is “very happy” doing radio, because she is “a teacher of life.”
Upon receiving the “El Rotativo del Aire” award, Amelia Troisi, responsible for the service, thanked APTRA and especially Marcelo Figoli: “Radio Rivadavia is growing on all platforms, the commitment continues and is very strong, we are now a reality” , said Jelabet.
During her speech, the journalist also thanked “all of Alpha Media, who are a wonderful team. Thank you Fernando Subirat, Jorge García, Silvia Marino and the team at the newspaper del aire: cell phones, journalists and producers.”
For its part, “The eye of art”, the FM Metro program hosted by María Paula Zacharias and with the general production of Gisela Asmundo, won the Martín Fierro 2023 award for Best Cultural/Educational Program.
In an unusual event, the shortlist had two winners: the other Martín Fierro received “Historias del Colón”, which is broadcast on CNN Radio.
It was Luis Ventura himself, president of Aptra, who explained that according to the statute when there is a tie in the election, it is the head of the entity who must define and in this case he decided to award two awards, to recognize the efforts of both productions.
Upon receiving the award, María Paula Zacharias said: “Thanks to Aptra and thanks to Gisela Asmundo for having the idea of doing this radio program dedicated to the visual arts, to listening to what there is to see, to giving a voice to the artists, gallerists, collectors, curators, critics. We want to share it with our cultural journalist colleagues and with all art workers.”
Finally, the program “Nadie nos Para”, hosted by Beto Casella on Rock & Pop, was awarded the Martín Fierro for best FM morning journalistic program. Beto Casella, speaking on the occasion, said that he is the one who “drives the ship a little,” but he highlighted the importance of his colleagues.
He also spoke against the “precariousness” of the majority of workers in the sector, who “in most cases do not make it to day 20.”
