The mayor, David Conde, attended this morning the celebration of the 15th anniversary of the San Luis Gonzaga Day Center, a municipal service that provides comprehensive care to 19 people with physical and intellectual disabilities with a high level of dependency between 18 and 65 years old with the purpose of improving their quality of life and that of their family environment.
In addition to the first mayor, Government councilors Samuel Hernández and Carmen María Méndez and the PSOE spokesperson, Vicente López-Peláez, also traveled to the facilities of the Bolitas del Airón park, who had the opportunity to greet users and family members. During the fun day that took place in the outdoor area of the center, a space that this year has seen improvements in access, a pergola, benches and plants have been installed and has been adapted for physical exercise.
The San Luis Gonzaga Day Center was inaugurated in 2009 and five years later it moved to its current premises in the Bolitas del Airón park, where it provides service from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It has 13 professionals in the areas of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medicine, psychology, nursing, auxiliary, social work, social integration and maintenance. Intervention is carried out at an individual and group level in three areas: rehabilitation, psychosocial health and personal care. In addition, coexistence, leisure and free time activities are programmed.
