This Saturday, the National Disaster Prevention and Response Service (Senapred) ordered the evacuation of the Santa Elena sector, in RancaguaO’Higgins region.
According to the organization, the decision was made due to the overflow of the La Cadena estuarywhich causes an imminent risk of flooding in homes.
The authorities notified the residents of the area of the measure through their cell phones, by activating the Emergency Alert System (SAE).
“Act calmly and follow the instructions of the authority,” said Senapred, through a message published on his X account. “During the evacuation, do not forget to consider your pet and its needs,” he added.
