The British Open Polo Championship for the Cowdray Gold Cup, organised by Cowdray Park Polo Club, located in Midhurst, West Sussex, England, continued with its intense activity on Thursday, June 27with three matches, which were won by King Power, Gaston and Marqués de Riscal, over Black Bears, Bangash and La Magdeleine, respectively.
In the first match of the day, King Power defeated Black Bears by 14-11, in a match that was close until the fourth chukka. The Thai team pulled away by a considerable margin in the fifth chukka, to finally take the victory by 14-11. King Power had Estanislao Darritchon, instead of Top Srivaddhanaprabha.
In the French teams’ duel, Gaston then took a great 13-7 victory over La Magdeleine, with Cruz Heguy in outstanding form and a powerful scorer, who scored eight goals. After an even start, Gaston took control of the situation from the second chukker onwards, pulling out a considerable lead that led them to an overwhelming victory.
Finally, Marqués de Riscal, one of the semi-finalists in 2023, also scored a great 10-6 victory over debutant Bangash, dominating the match from start to finish.

Marquis of Riscal Progression: 3-1, 5-1, 7-3, 9-4, 10-5, 10-6.
