Who is Rogelio Benítez in Devuélveme La Vida?
He is the unrecognized son of Orlando Azcárate, Alfredo’s cousin. Rogelio arrives at the Azcárate estate with the ambition of controlling the entire empire from which he was disinherited. In his first 6 months working on the farm, sets his eyes on Mariana knowing that if he manages to conquer it he will have in his hands the key to take over the cotton empire.
When he finds out about Mariana’s pregnancy with Joaquín, he helps Alfredo get rid of the “problem”. Rogelio hides a past in which he had a daughter with a prostitute, but that will eventually come to light. Benítez takes advantage of his contacts in the underworld to get into the drug trafficking business, using Azcárate’s companies as a front to distribute drugs to all corners of the world.
