“The Handmaid’s Tale” is a series based on the novel of the same name written by Margaret Atwood. The television version was developed by Bruce Miller and produced by Hulu. The plot of the series closely follows the premise of the novel, set in a dystopian society called Gilead, which was once part of the United States.
