Everything you need to know about ‘Gaddar’, the new Turkish series by Çağatay Ulusoy (‘The Tailor’) with Sümeyye Aydoğan (‘Unfaithful’)

He is one of the most versatile actors in Turkish series. Çağatay Ulusoy (Istanbul, 1990) has also worked as a model, but the truth is that her acting work has already made her a well-established name in the sector. He has been the star of hits like ‘Medcezir’, ‘İçerde’ and ‘Feriha’s Secret’, but he has also been the star of two of Netflix’s latest major Turkish releases, ‘Hakan, the Protector’ and ‘The Tailor’.

That’s why it’s not surprising that in just a few months I already have another project on my hands. On this occasion he has ventured with a new series that links him to Dizi, the platform that was born to produce and premiere the best Turkish series inside and outside the Ottoman country. From January 2024 he can be seen in ‘Gaddar’ (translated as ‘Without mercy’ in Spanish) in which, in addition, he coincides with another star of Turkish fiction.

‘Gaddar’: this is the new Turkish series by Çagatay Ulusoy (‘The Tailor’) with Sümeyye Aydoğan, actress of ‘Unfaithful’

Conceived as an action and drama fiction, ‘Gaddar’ premiered in Turkey on January 19. Firstly, it was expected to arrive later so that it would not coincide with another release of the protagonist Çağatay Ulusoy. ‘Kübra’ also premiered on Netflix in Januarybut finally the production company Ay Yapım decided to take advantage of the push at the beginning of the year and, since then, Dizi has offered 19 bolüms (chapters) of ‘Gaddar’.

The story of ‘Gaddar’ invites us to meet Dağhan Yalçın (Çağatay Ulusoy), who returned home after saying goodbye to the army, but cannot be found as he left it. Her mother Fatma (Laçin Ceylan) and his father Davut (Hakan Salınmış) do not speak to each other. Her brother Rüzgar (Fatih Berk Şahin) dropped out of school and moved to another house and her sister Yağmur (Itır Esen) fell in love with her worst enemy, Enver Baltacı (Alper Çankaya), and became pregnant. But if there is something that really hurts her, it is that, at that time, her former girlfriend Aydan left the neighborhood and perhaps that is why she has lost her true opportunity to love and be happy. That’s the role she takes on. Sümeyye Aydoğan, Ceren in ‘Unfaithful’that of that lost couple who may return to your life.

But the truly problematic part comes when Kerem (Onur Saylak), nicknamed the Manager, makes him an offer that begins a series of events that could cost him dearly. In a police plot, with mystery, lies and various crimes, chapter by chapter, the series covers real cases from Turkish criminal history.

Without a doubt, a different role for Çağatay Ulusoy who leaves behind the period fiction of ‘The Tailor’ and shows other harder facets as an actor, who seems to have started a new stage in his career with deeper roles full of edges in his latest works.
